He remembers The Forgotten War

Sixty years ago this summer, North Korean troops overran South Korea and war broke out in East Asia. Although 36,000 American men and women died during three years of fighting, the conflict is known today as The Forgotten War.

Last Sunday afternoon, the city of Temple ensured a longtime Temple resident who received a Silver Star for bravery in Korea would not be forgotten. Recognizing his contributions to the community and his country, the city proclaimed July 19 as Dallas Shannon Day.
