TISD has many options to explore: Officials discuss future of Emerson, Vandiver buildings

Temple ISD board members met Tuesday night during a special board retreat to discuss plans for the district's Emerson and Vandiver buildings, which will be vacated soon.

The Vandiver building is currently being used by Holy Trinity Catholic High School, which rents the site from TISD.

"We're going to have to decide what we want to do with Vandiver because the move for (Holy Trinity) is imminent," TISD superintendent Robin Battershell said.

Holy Trinity is constructing a $2.8 million campus off FM 2305. Officials expect to move into the campus later this winter.

"We're going to have to see if there is any historical significance to the campus before we decide anything," Battershell said of the Vandiver building. "I think there's a number of different options for us."
