Jordan Pickett and Patty Kabobel had nine kills apiece, and Kacie Easley came up with 20 digs to help Temple put away Killeen 25-20, 25-16, 25-22 Tuesday night for the Tem-Cats’ ninth victory in their last 13 matches.
“We’ve been working on consistency all year, and it has shown in the past few matches,” said Temple coach Susie Hughlett, whose squad got off to a 4-10 start for the season but has improved to 13-14. “Now we want to keep building on what we’ve done.”
Pickett also had 10 assists and three blocks, and Kabobel added eight digs and a pair of blocks. Lauren Mann recorded 12 digs, and Faith Thompson posted three kills and three blocks.
The Tem-Cats have matches Friday at home against Robinson and Tuesday at Gatesville before opening District 12-5A play Sept. 12 at Belton.
“Heading into district, we’re focusing more on individual skills,” Hughlett said. “Our communication on the court is great. Now we want to fine-tune our passing, setting and hitting so that we keep improving."
