Breaking News! Accident closes eastbound U.S. 190 in Belton - 12:22pm
BELTON - The two eastbound lanes of U.S. 190 were closed at George Wilson Road after a three-vehicle accident in which one person was critically injured. The victim was taken by life flight to Scott & White Hospital in Temple. The extent of his injuries were unknown.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Senate voted overwhelmingly Thursday to boost the federal minimum wage by $2.10 to $7.25 an hour over two years, but packaged the increase with small business tax cuts and limits on corporate pay that could complicate its path to become law.

BELTON - Expect at least one change on the Belton school board this year as Paul Sanderford, Area 5 trustee, announced Thursday that he will not file for re-election because he wants to spend more time with his family.

Exxon Mobil posts U.S. record profit
HOUSTON (AP) - Oil giant Exxon Mobil Corp. on Thursday posted the largest annual profit by a U.S. company - $39.5 billion - even as earnings for the last quarter of 2006 declined 4 percent.
