Time is running out to treat yourself to an evening of live entertainment, food, shopping and supporting the arts at the Contemporaries Gala, “Cabaret,” on Jan 26 at the Cultural Activities Center.

The celebration begins at 5 p.m. and features silent and live auctions, an elegant seated dinner, entertainment and cash bar. Tickets are $75 per person for the entire evening and $25 per person for anyone arriving after 7 p.m. Reservations for the entire evening must be made by Jan. 19.

This year’s Gala theme, “Cabaret,” features onstage entertainment provided by Temple High School Jazz Band, the Highlighters and the award-winning women’s show choir, Encore!

Gala attendees can place bids at the silent and live auctions that include everything from vacation destination properties, fine dining, unique items and more.

A special part of the evening is the Gala chance. This raffle features an extraordinary pendant with a huge oval Swiss Blue Topaz over 27 carats and 20 brilliant cut diamonds. It is custom-made by John Muro of John’s Jewelry and Repair and made available by John Muro and Fran Jacques and your friends the Contemporaries.

Chance tickets are $10 each or $25 for three.

The Gala is the major fundraiser for the Contemporaries with all proceeds going to the CAC. Last year’s Gala enabled the Contemporaries to contribute $60,000 to help with operating and maintenance costs and funding arts and education programs.

Each year, the Contemporaries produce Hands-On, an interactive program for third and fourth graders and the Arts-in-Education program, which offers live professional performances to more than 11,000 students from Temple, Belton and surrounding schools.
