President: Cut gas consumption 20 percent

WASHINGTON (AP) - A politically weakened President Bush implored a skeptical Congress Tuesday night to embrace his unpopular plan to send more U.S. troops to Iraq, saying it represents the best hope in a war America must not lose.

Murdoch produces big game as Temple girls beat A&M Consolidated

Kaetlyn Murdoch kept the Temple girls basketball team afloat in the first half and re-established her inside presence late in the second half as the Tem-Cats recorded a crucial 53-46 win over College Station A&M Consolidated on Tuesday night at Wildcat Gym. The victory kept the Tem-Cats tied with Harker Heights for second place in District 13-5A at 6-3 and ended a grueling four-game stretch against the top teams. Temple finished the stretch 2-2 despite shooting 36 percent from the floor.
