The first substantial rain of the month and the millennium made its way through Temple Wednesday reducing temperatures and slowing down drivers.Although the first official rainfall of the year came New Year's Day, with only .12 of an inch, Wednesday's deluge measured 2.1 inches at Draughon-Miller Central Texas Regional Airport.Area forecasters anticipate partly cloudy skies throughout the rest of the week with chances of more rainfall Saturday and into early parts of next week.With one notable exception, area law enforcement and safety officials reported no serious weather-related mishaps.At 2 p.m. Wednesday, a northbound 1995 Mack tractor-trailer rig apparently lost control in the rain and overturned on Interstate 35 near the Texaco truck stop south of Salado, reported Department of Public Safety Trooper Tom Nipper out of the Temple office. by Nicole Edwards
