What is RSS?

RSS, or Really Simple Syndication, is a growing internet technology that allows web sites to publish updated content directly to you, the visitor. An RSS feed contains headlines and links to all of the news articles posted on Temple-Telegram.com. Anytime new articles have been posted online, you will be notified immediately, almost like an email message. This allows you to quickly and easily stay informed about news in Central Texas and abroad from the Temple Daily Telegram.

What are RSS Readers?

RSS feeds utilize XML to display and update headlines and stories. In order to receive this information, you must have an RSS News reader. These are small applications that pull selected headlines and articles from the web site for you. There are many readers available to choose from, but all function the same. Some popular free readers include: FeedReader, RSS Reader, and Sharp Reader. Other possible options are Google or Yahoo!, which both have browser based readers, or the Mozilla Thunderbird email client, which can also receive RSS feeds.

How to Use Our RSS Feeds.

After you have chosen an RSS reader, you simply need to select a category above. Copy and paste the web address of the feed from your browser into the feed readers Add New Feed section (this will differ based on readers). That's all there is to it! You will now start receiving updated news articles from throughout Temple-Telegram.com.
